Professor Phillips has a Ph.D. from Yale in Psychology and Philosophy, and is completing a postdoctoral fellowship in Harvard's Moral Psychology Research Lab. His research falls in the intersection of psychology, philosophy, and linguistics. Much of his work is related to the psychological representation of modality — the way our minds represent possibilities. He has also done research on theory of mind, causal reasoning, moral judgment, formal semantics, and happiness.
Jonathan Phillips will be co-teaching COGS 01 spring 2019
