Alumni Stories: Graham McConnell ’14

"After Dartmouth, I started my career at Relay Network, as a Product Owner helping to design a communication platform being used by healthcare companies to keep in touch with customers. From there I went on to AJO Partners, a quantitative investment manager, as a full-time software developer. This aligned well with some of the Cognitive Science work I did relating to behavioral finance, as Sentiment is one of the major pillars used to value stocks. Late last year, however, I began working on an idea with my father, Chris ('75), focusing on bringing liquidity to shareholders of private companies. In July, this idea became reality with the help of seed funding from New Enterprise Associates. While still in beta, the product allows companies to host private markets allowing investors to buy and sell their equity ownership, all of which is built on top of the Ethereum blockchain.
